Half Marathon Training II

OK, so 2 weeks later……….I have done no training. Unfortunately, I was away from home, partly with work, and partly at play. The first week, I did actually go on 2 runs. The first went ok, but the route was hilly and I was not fit so there was a bit of walk/run going on. At this stage, my fitness levels were poor. I also had a slightly sore throat and through my own diagnosis, I think I had covid. So, the lungs were not functioning as they should. Also, as I was staying in a hotel room, sitting on a bus, or waiting in meeting rooms, my back was starting to really stiffen. The second was a complete disaster, I only ran for about 30 minutes and half of that was walking.

When I got home I felt like I had quite a bad flu, and I only had 2 full days before I was off again. So I did no running. I went away, did no running but ate like a king, and drank like a lord. Massive belly ensued.

I finally got home again, but as things stand I still have done no running. I am trying to catch up from missing lots of days off work, but I also feel quite guilty about not supporting my family so I did not feel I could take best part of an hour or longer to go off on a run. I am pondering my next move as I only have 5-6 weeks until the half.
